Parents as Teachers - Region 1 MIECHV

Based in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Parents as Teachers - Region 1 MIECHV is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of pregnant women and families with young children through a no-cost, voluntary home visiting program. As an initiative of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Bureau of Family Health, we connect families with registered nurses and parent educators who offer personalized coaching, health education, and essential referrals to community resources. Our mission is to empower families to achieve their goals by fostering positive parenting skills, boosting caregiving confidence, and supporting personal aspirations such as returning to work or school. By participating in our program, families can experience increased economic self-sufficiency, early detection of developmental delays, and overall improvements in child health and development, all within the comfort of their own home or preferred location.
