The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Arnaudville, LA, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in the movement for a just food system. Our program provides a comprehensive, no-cost education in organic food systems, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Over six transformative months, Fellows gain hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm, engaging in activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, facilitating innovative health-related educational sessions, and maintaining community gardens. This immersive training is followed by a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profit organizations to enhance food access, support farmers markets, and integrate food and ecological literacy into schools. By equipping Fellows with the knowledge and skills to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems, we aim to foster a healthier and more resilient community.
