Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Wamego, Kansas, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Through our collaboration with the Kansas Department for Children and Families, we distribute free USDA commodity foods, ensuring that families have access to nourishing staples such as canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Shipments occur five to six times a year to local organizations, delivering a variety of foods that meet the basic nutritional needs of our clients. We invite eligible residents to apply within their home counties, emphasizing our commitment to alleviating food insecurity and supporting the well-being of our community.
