Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Tonganoxie, KS, is dedicated to combating food insecurity by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households across Kansas. Our mission is to ensure that every family has access to essential nutrition through our regular food shipments, which occur five to six times a year. We partner with local organizations to deliver a variety of nutritious foods such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each household can receive between four to ten different food items per distribution. To access this vital food assistance, clients are encouraged to apply in their home county, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most in our community.
