Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to alleviating hunger in Shawnee, KS, by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households across the state. Our program delivers essential foods such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, ensuring that each family receives the nutrition they need. With shipments occurring five to six times a year, we can support families with a minimum of four to a maximum of ten different food items per distribution. To access food assistance through TEFAP, individuals must complete an application in their home county, allowing us to connect vulnerable households with vital resources to combat food insecurity.
