Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Scott City, Kansas, is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity for low-income households by providing essential USDA commodity foods. With shipments delivered five to six times a year to various local organizations, TEFAP ensures that families receive nourishing staples such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, with each distribution offering between four to ten different food items per household. Our mission is to meet the basic nutritional needs of those in our community, and to access our services, clients must apply in their home county. We are here to support and empower residents by providing vital food assistance when it is needed most.
