Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Prairie Village, KS, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, this program ensures that families in need receive free USDA commodity foods, including canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. With distributions occurring five to six times a year, each participating household can receive a minimum of four to a maximum of ten vital food items per shipment.
