Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Ottawa, KS, is dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households across Kansas. Through our program, we ensure that families receive essential nutrition by distributing a selection of staple items such as canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, delivered five to six times a year. Each household can receive between four to ten different food items with every shipment, and we invite all eligible clients to apply through their home county for assistance. We are committed to supporting our community’s basic nutritional needs and making food accessibility a priority for those in need.
