Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to providing vital food assistance to low-income households in Mulvane, KS and across Kansas. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP distributes free USDA commodity foods five to six times a year through local participating organizations, ensuring that families receive essential nutrition. Our program offers a variety of food items, including canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, with each shipment supplying between four to ten items per household. We invite individuals and families in need to apply through their home county for access to these crucial resources aimed at alleviating food insecurity in our community.
