Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Mission, KS US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Mission, KS is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. We sponsor, train, and empower individuals to become advocates for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our fellowship offers a unique six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm, where participants gain hands-on education in organic agriculture and food justice. With a commitment to accessibility, we do not charge tuition, ensuring that all interested candidates can participate. Throughout their journey, Fellows will engage in meaningful projects such as cultivating diverse crops, leading health-focused educational workshops, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools. By actively supporting farmers markets and community food initiatives, our Fellows work to increase access to healthy foods and advance local food systems. The program culminates in a Community Action Year, allowing participants to implement their training alongside regional non-profits. Applications are open until March each year for an experience that runs from May to October.
