Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) serves the Mission, KS community by providing essential food assistance to low-income households throughout Kansas. Administered by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP ensures that families receive high-quality USDA commodity foods delivered regularly to local organizations. Each shipment, distributed five to six times a year, includes a variety of nutritious options such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, allowing households to meet their basic nutritional needs effectively. Families in need are encouraged to apply through their home county for access to this critical emergency food resource, reinforcing our commitment to alleviate hunger and support community well-being.
