Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

In Mission, KS, the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the Kansas Department for Children and Families is committed to alleviating hunger by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households across the state. Delivered in five to six shipments annually, our program ensures access to essential nutritional staples, including canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each delivery supplies a minimum of four and a maximum of ten food items per household, helping families meet their basic food needs. To receive assistance, clients are encouraged to apply in their home county, empowering them with immediate support and nourishment during challenging times.
