Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Maize, KS, is dedicated to alleviating hunger for low-income households across Kansas by providing essential USDA commodity foods at no cost. Our mission is to ensure that families have access to emergency food assistance to meet their basic nutritional needs. We distribute nutritious items such as canned vegetables, fruits, meats, cereals, peanut butter, and pasta, with shipments occurring five to six times a year to local partner organizations. Each participating household can receive between four and ten different food items per shipment, tailored to support their dietary requirements. To access these vital resources, clients must apply through their home county offices, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most in our community.
