Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) serves Leawood, KS, by providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP distributes free USDA commodity foods, ensuring families have access to vital nutrition. With shipments occurring five to six times a year to local organizations, we make delivering nutritious staples like canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta a priority. Each household can receive between four to ten different food items per shipment, all aimed at supporting those in need. Clients are encouraged to apply within their home county to benefit from this vital food pantry service.
