Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is committed to supporting low-income households in Lansing, KS, by providing essential food assistance through the distribution of free USDA commodity foods. To ensure families have access to nutritious meals, TEFAP delivers shipments five to six times a year to local organizations for direct distribution. Each shipment is thoughtfully curated, offering a variety of food items including canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, fulfilling basic nutritional needs. Households can receive between four to ten food items per distribution, and all clients are encouraged to apply through their home county to benefit from this vital program.
