Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Kingman, Kansas, is dedicated to ensuring that low-income households have access to nutritious food. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP offers free USDA commodity foods to those in need, with food shipments made five to six times a year to local organizations for easy distribution. Our program addresses urgent nutritional needs by providing a variety of essential items, including canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, ensuring that each shipment delivers between four to ten different foods per household.
