Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to supporting low-income households in Hutchinson, KS, by providing free access to nutritious USDA commodity foods. Operating through the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP distributes essential food items, including canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, delivered five to six times a year to local organizations. Each participating household can receive between four to ten types of food, ensuring that families have the resources they need to meet their basic nutritional requirements.
