Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Great Bend, KS, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP delivers nutritious USDA commodity foods to local organizations five to six times a year, ensuring that community members can access vital provisions such as canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each distribution offers four to ten different food items, tailored to meet the basic nutritional needs of families in our area. To benefit from this program, clients must apply within their home county, reinforcing our commitment to serving those in need right here in Great Bend and beyond.
