Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Galena, KS, is dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households across the state. Recognizing the urgent need for reliable food assistance, TEFAP distributes nutritious options such as canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta—ensuring families have access to essential nutrition. With deliveries scheduled five to six times a year to local organizations, each family can receive a minimum of four and a maximum of ten food items per shipment.
