Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to supporting low-income households in Fort Scott, KS, by providing essential USDA commodity foods at no cost. With shipments delivered five to six times annually to local organizations, TEFAP ensures that families have access to crucial nutrition, including canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each delivery offers households a minimum of four and up to ten different food items, addressing immediate food assistance needs in the community. To participate, individuals must apply in their home county, making it easy for those in need to receive vital support.
