Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to serving low-income households in Fort Leavenworth, KS, by providing vital food assistance through the distribution of free USDA commodity foods. Operating in collaboration with the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP delivers nutritious options, including canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, to local organizations five to six times a year. Each participating household can receive between four to ten food items per shipment, ensuring that basic nutritional needs are met. To access this essential emergency food support, clients simply need to apply through their home county office. We are committed to alleviating hunger and fostering community resilience in Kansas.
