Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to offering vital food assistance to low-income households in Eudora, KS, and throughout the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, this program provides essential USDA commodity foods on a regular basis, ensuring that families have access to nutritious items such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. With shipments delivered five to six times a year to local organizations for distribution, we aim to help meet the basic nutritional needs of our communities. Households in need can apply for assistance directly in their home county, and each eligible client can receive a variety of food products, with at least four and up to ten items provided per shipment, making a significant impact on food security in the region.
