Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income households in Ellsworth, KS, and throughout the state. Partnering with the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP ensures access to nutritious USDA commodity foods, including canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. We distribute food shipments five to six times a year through local organizations, offering each household a variety of four to ten different food items per delivery. To take part in this vital program, individuals must apply in their home county, ensuring that support is tailored to those in need within our community.
