Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Derby, Kansas, is dedicated to supporting low-income households by providing free USDA commodity foods. Our mission is to address the urgent nutritional needs of those facing food insecurity in our community. With shipments occurring five to six times a year, we ensure that local organizations receive an assortment of nutritious items, including canned fruits and vegetables, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each family can receive between four to ten essential food items per distribution, helping to alleviate hunger and improve wellbeing. To access these vital resources, individuals must apply through their home county, and we invite everyone in need to reach out for assistance and support.
