Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in De Soto, KS, is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, this vital program ensures that families receive free USDA commodity foods, delivered five to six times a year to local organizations for distribution. Our mission is to combat hunger by supplying nutritious food options, including canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each household can receive between four to ten different food items per shipment, tailored to meet their basic nutritional needs.
