Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Concordia, KS, is dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing essential food assistance to low-income households across Kansas. Managed by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP ensures that nutritious, USDA commodity foods such as canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta are distributed regularly, with shipments arriving five to six times a year to local participating organizations. Each household can receive between four to ten different food items per shipment, helping to meet their basic nutritional needs.
