Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) provides vital food assistance to low-income households in Clearwater, KS, and across the state of Kansas. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, this program ensures access to nutritious USDA commodity foods, which are delivered five to six times a year to local organizations for distribution. Each shipment includes a variety of essential foods, such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, catering to the basic nutritional needs of families. Households can receive between four and ten different food items per delivery. To benefit from TEFAP, individuals must apply through their home county, making vital support readily available to those in need within our community.
