Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) connects low-income households in Burlington, KS, with essential USDA commodity foods that meet their basic nutritional needs. Through regular shipments five to six times a year to local distribution partners, we ensure that families receive a diverse selection of food items, including canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each household is empowered to access a minimum of four and a maximum of ten essential food items per shipment, providing vital nourishment for those in need. To participate, clients are encouraged to apply within their home county, fostering a personalized and supportive approach to food assistance for our community.
