Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Abilene, Kansas, is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity by providing essential nutritional support to low-income households across the state. Through our partnership with the Kansas Department for Children and Families, we distribute free USDA commodity foods, including canned vegetables, fruit, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, ensuring families receive nourishing meals. Our program ships food supplies five to six times a year to local organizations, offering every participating household a minimum of four items and up to ten staple foods to help meet their basic needs. To access these vital food assistance services, clients must apply through their home county, ensuring that help is accessible where it is needed most.
