The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in West Lafayette, IN, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on education and community engagement. By sponsoring and training passionate individuals, our program empowers Fellows to advocate for social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems. The fellowship offers a rigorous six-month experiential learning experience at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, which includes organic food system education, hands-on farming, and innovative collaboration with local non-profits. After this immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year where they apply their skills by supporting initiatives like grocery access, community gardens, and educational programs in ecological literacy and nutrition. We strive to make this opportunity accessible, as we do not charge tuition, ensuring that anyone committed to transforming food systems can participate. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by March for the annual fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
