Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC, located in Washington, IN, is a vital nutrition program dedicated to supporting pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children in achieving healthier lives through proper nourishment and educational resources. Operated by IU Health Bloomington, this program serves income-eligible families in Monroe and Greene Counties by providing essential services such as access to healthy foods tailored to specific nutritional needs, comprehensive nutrition and health screening, education and counseling, and breastfeeding support through Peer Counselors. Additionally, WIC connects families with necessary referrals to other health, family, and social services throughout Indiana, ensuring a holistic approach to wellness for our community's most vulnerable members.
