They also have opportunities to maintain school or community gardens, integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, and support local farmers markets and community food initiatives. Following this immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their newfound skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically spanning from May to October.
