Located in Seymour, IN, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship by the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to nurturing passionate leaders who advocate for a socially, environmentally, and economically equitable food system. Our fellowship offers a tuition-free program that equips selected fellows with essential skills in organic food system education and provides hands-on experience in diverse farming practices. Throughout a six-month immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, fellows gain the knowledge to grow and distribute crops, run community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in schools. Post-training, fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to promote access to healthy food and support initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions. Applications are welcomed each year until March, and the fellowship runs from May to October, inviting individuals to join us in creating lasting change in the food landscape.
