The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Peru, IN, nurtures the next generation of food advocates through a hands-on, immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm. This unique program empowers Fellows to promote a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just, without any tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Over a six-month residential fellowship, participants receive organic food system education, work on diverse crop production, and engage in community projects such as maintaining school gardens, facilitating health education sessions, and supporting local farmers markets. After their fellowship, participants enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits, enhancing food access and promoting ecological literacy throughout the community. Interested individuals should complete the application by March for the following experience period from May to October.
