Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Osceola, IN, is dedicated to empowering the next generation of food advocates and educators by providing comprehensive training in sustainable agricultural practices. This Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, ensures accessibility by waiving tuition fees, allowing diverse individuals to engage in hands-on learning about socially, environmentally, and economically just food systems. Participants will immerse themselves in organic farming techniques and undertake initiatives such as growing diversified crops, developing community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational programs. Following a six-month experiential learning period at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows will embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profit organizations to enact meaningful change and support healthy food access initiatives. Applications for this transformative program are open until March, with activities typically taking place from May to October.
