The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Muncie, IN, is dedicated to empowering individuals to cultivate a more equitable food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Participants engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, implement educational health care initiatives, maintain community and school gardens, and deepen food and ecological literacy within educational settings. Additionally, Fellows contribute to local farmers markets, develop channels to enhance access to healthy foods, and actively participate in community food coalition activities. The fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations, creating a lasting impact in the community. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
