Johnson County Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)

The Johnson County Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Franklin, IN, is dedicated to empowering low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old, by promoting healthy nutrition and food habits. Through our program, we provide nutritious food packages loaded onto a debit card, alongside essential breastfeeding classes. Our participants benefit from personalized nutrition education materials and counseling, conducted by our qualified Registered Dietitians and Nurses who also perform height and weight assessments and anemia testing. We offer valuable breastfeeding support with access to Lactation Consultants, as well as referrals to various educational programs. WIC sessions foster engagement among parents and children, building supportive networks and lasting friendships. To ensure accessibility, we provide transportation assistance to WIC appointments, and offer language translation services for non-English speakers, along with sign language support. Families already enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF may qualify for our services, as we strive to make healthy food assistance readily available to those in need.
