Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Elkhart, IN, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship provides comprehensive education in organic farming practices, focusing on social, environmental, and economic justice. Selected fellows engage in a dynamic six-month experiential program at the beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their training in collaboration with regional nonprofits. During their fellowship, participants have the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational initiatives, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. This program prioritizes accessibility, with no tuition fees, to ensure that the fellowship nurtures future leaders in food systems and strengthens local food networks. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
