At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Columbus, IN, we cultivate a new generation of leaders dedicated to advancing a fair and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our Fellowship engages individuals in hands-on training that emphasizes organic food system education and practical advocacy for social, environmental, and economic justice. Participants are immersed in a six-month experiential learning program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, which includes growing and distributing diverse crops, conducting educational sessions, and fostering community gardens. Our Fellows are not only trained to support farmers markets and increase access to healthy foods, but they also contribute to local food initiatives and mentor future cohorts, ensuring a lasting impact on the community. With no tuition fees, we aim to make this transformative experience accessible to all passionate advocates. Applications are due by March each year, with the Fellowship running from May to October, engaging participants in meaningful local partnerships throughout Columbus and beyond.
