The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Brazil, IN, is dedicated to fostering a new generation of leaders in sustainable food systems. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants with valuable training and support to advocate for a fair and just food system that benefits all. Throughout a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in organic food system education, agricultural practices, and community initiatives. They learn to grow diverse crops, manage community gardens, and implement educational programs that emphasize food and ecological literacy. With a focus on accessibility, we do not charge tuition, allowing more individuals to participate in this vital work. After their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to further apply their skills in promoting healthy food access and supporting local food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
