Debra Nickerson

Dr. Debra Nickerson is a dedicated psychologist with a PsyD, SOE, and SOTP, who specializes in working with individuals grappling with sexual behavior issues, including sexual addiction, pornography addiction, and Internet addiction. She recognizes that while sexuality can bring joy, its misuse often leads to profound pain and dysfunction. Dr. Nickerson understands that these sexual behavior problems are multifaceted, often stemming from deeper emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and troubled relationships. She provides compassionate support to both individuals who have acted out sexually and survivors of sexual abuse and trauma. Her practice is inclusive of adults, teenagers, and elders, offering individual, couples, family, and group counseling. Dr. Nickerson has considerable experience navigating the legal system and is proficient in EMDR therapy. She is passionate about fostering an environment of mutual respect and safety, viewing it as an honor to accompany her clients on their journey toward healing. As a proud graduate of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and Wheaton College, Dr. Nickerson is deeply rooted in her community and is committed to serving individuals from all walks of life.
