Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) proudly serves the residents of Waukegan, IL, offering critical food assistance that ensures low-income households can access the nutrition they need. Through the Illinois Link Card, participants receive monthly benefits to purchase a wide range of food products for human consumption, allowing families to maintain a balanced diet. Eligibility and benefit amounts are determined by household income and family size, and while we encourage those able to work to seek employment, our primary focus remains on meeting immediate nutritional needs. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we urge all applicants to utilize our online and telephone services for assistance and note that during April and May, all SNAP beneficiaries will receive the maximum allowable benefits to further support their food security.
