El Mercadito Food Pantry, located in Skokie, IL, is a vital initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity among Chicago residents. A collaborative effort between La Casa Norte and Nourishing Hope, we believe that meeting basic human needs is essential to overcoming the cycle of poverty. Our pantry offers a wide range of nutritious groceries, including fresh produce, dairy, and meat, ensuring that families have access to healthy food options. Additionally, during food pick-up, we provide access to essential social services, such as public benefits assistance, job search training, and mental health counseling, through Nourishing Hope, along with information and referral services from La Casa Norte. We encourage individuals to pre-register online to facilitate their visit, with all personal information kept confidential to respect privacy.
