Joanna Bowersmith

Joanna Bowersmith is a compassionate and experienced marriage and family therapist (LMFT, CADC) who began her career at a substance abuse treatment facility and has since expanded her expertise to encompass various facets of mental health care. She is dedicated to guiding individuals through all phases of the recovery process, from early treatment to long-term maintenance sobriety. Joanna finds particular fulfillment in supporting clients navigating stage two recovery issues, helping them integrate 12-step principles into their relationships and everyday life. Her practice includes assisting individuals facing dual-diagnosis issues who require additional help beyond traditional twelve-step programs and those who seek deeper self-understanding. In addition to her specialization in addiction and recovery, Joanna is adept at helping families manage conflict and navigate transitions throughout the family life cycle. With extensive experience in working with troubled adolescents, she is uniquely equipped to assist high-conflict families. Each life phase presents its own challenges, from premarital counseling and newlywed adjustments to child-rearing and empty nest syndrome, and Joanna offers the support and guidance needed to help families weather these storms.
