Robert Donohoo

Robert Donohoo is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) dedicated to providing individuals, couples, and families with the tools they need for effective communication and to navigate their challenges. With a focus on improving relational dynamics, Robert encourages partners to express their needs and educates them on the harmful interactions that can arise during conflicts, guiding them towards rebuilding friendships and positive connections. His practice also focuses on facilitating safe communication within families, ensuring that each member's needs are recognized and valued. In addition to his expertise in marriage counseling, Robert assists those dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression, employing various therapy modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method. After completing an 18-month residency in marriage and family therapy in 2012, he became a licensed professional and is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Previously, Robert served as Secretary for the Illinois Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and holds the title of National Certified Counselor. A lifelong resident of the community, Robert is a devoted husband of 20 years and a father of three young adults. He approaches each client with compassion, respect, and integrity, committed to helping them navigate their personal stories.
