Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) serves the Plainfield community by empowering low-income households with essential food assistance to ensure their nutritional needs are met. Our program provides monthly benefits through the Illinois Link Card, which functions like a debit card dedicated to purchasing healthy food options for your family. We aim to make food accessible for everyone, covering a wide range of items intended for human consumption, with the exception of hot meals. Eligibility is determined by household income and family size, and we encourage those who can work to seek employment. In response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, we advise all applicants to utilize our online and telephone services rather than visiting in person. We are committed to supporting our community, especially during challenging times, with maximum benefit amounts offered to all SNAP recipients through April and May.
