The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Pekin, IL, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in promoting a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Our program empowers selected Fellows through six months of hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they receive comprehensive education on organic food systems. This Fellowship emphasizes accessibility by charging no tuition fees, ensuring that aspiring advocates can focus on their training without financial burden. Throughout their journey, Fellows engage in impactful community initiatives, such as managing diversified market-style farms, developing school and community gardens, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in educational settings. Additionally, they support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs while cultivating vital distribution channels that increase access to healthy foods. Our Fellows are not just learners; they also have the opportunity to mentor new cohorts and partner with regional non-profits, making a tangible difference in several local communities. Applications are open until March, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
