The FRESH START Diabetes Prevention Program in Palatine, IL, offers vital support for adults at risk of developing diabetes through comprehensive group and individual services. Eligible individuals—scoring 5 or greater on the CDC Self-Assessment Quiz or diagnosed with prediabetes by a physician—can take part in this no-cost, year-long program, meeting weekly for the first 16 weeks, followed by bi-weekly and then monthly sessions. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, all classes are currently conducted online to ensure safety.
