Anita Jamison

Anita Jamison, MS, LCPC, CADC, is a highly respected Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Counselor with a career spanning over twenty-three years in the fields of mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. She earned her Master’s degree from National-Louis University in Wheaton, IL, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at Governors State University in University Park, IL. Anita has extensive clinical experience, having spent thirteen years counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families in a psychiatric hospital. Her work has included gender-specific programs as well as co-ed treatment environments across outpatient, inpatient, and residential levels of care. She is committed to a person-centered approach and employs motivational interviewing techniques, while also receiving advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy. By integrating various theoretical and therapeutic modalities, Anita tailors her counseling approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Additionally, she provides Christian counseling and guidance in spiritual development, believing wholeheartedly in the resilience of the human spirit to evolve, reflect, and adapt towards overcoming life's challenges. Her passion lies in empowering individuals and families to harness their own strengths to navigate transitions effectively and successfully.
