Richard Flynn

Richard Flynn is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Board Certified Art Therapist, and a Domestic Violence and Trauma Certified Therapist. He frequently utilizes CBT, DBT, Humanistic/Existential, and Art Therapy modalities in his practice. With expertise in supporting both children and adults diagnosed with conditions such as Depression, Autism/Asperger's Syndrome, Military Life stressors, ADHD, and chronic illnesses including Cancer, Leukemia, and organ transplants, Richard’s diverse experience includes working at Lurie Children’s Hospital, therapeutic schools, La Rabida, private practices, and a domestic violence agency. He skillfully tailors his approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual, incorporating talk therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, or a combination of both as appropriate. Currently, he provides counseling for children, teens, and young adults, including those who are children of active and retired military members at the Great Lakes Naval Base. His various therapeutic approaches effectively address issues such as bullying, social skills, academic difficulties, deployment, reuniting, injury, and loss.
